Default Driver door (jamb) switch n/w.

Could someone give me a brief rundown how a (driver) door switch in 2007 Chevy Express works and where is it located? I am used to seeing some kind of button or a pin on a door jamb that is pressed as the door is shut but there is no such thing. The only button I see is on the side cargo door jamb. What about all other doors? How does that work? Any help will be appreciated.

Do you know if it can be accessed without removing the trim panel?

My driver side door switch gets stuck every winter when the van is in storage. It starts working again after a week or two of use. I just use the remote lock to lock the van as this turns everything off like the radio when the switch is stuck.
