Default Flasher Making Static Noise

I recently purchased a 2002 Chevy Express School Bus. After ripping out the school bus internal and extra external lights I realized that the turn signals were acting erratic. They would flash faster/ slower and would change speeds frequently. The 4 ways seemed to flash consistently and didn't have a problem. After turning off the turn signals or the 4 ways the flasher would randomly make a turn signal clicking noise every couple of seconds but the lights were not flashing. I replaced the flasher but that did not fix the erratic turn signal lights and instead of making the turn signal noise randomly it now makes a static sound. Something is definitely off but I don't even know where to start as I am new to all this stuff. Any suggestions?

put everything that you ripped out back in, one by one, until it goes back to normal.
