hi - I installed 17" AT tires on my chevy g20 - I had to get an adaptor plate because of the old-school lug pattern on the wheels that pushes them out about 1" / this with the added heigh is causing my front tires to rub on wheel wells when turning. The back is all set as I added 2" to the leaf springs awhile ago. I was using smaller tires in the front so I didn't bother doing it up there. I'm trying to simplify things when it comes to having a spare tire. not keen to haul around two different sizes.
I'm having trouble finding information on how best to do this. so far i'm seeing that there's rings that get installed under the springs or there's an adaptor plate that goes under the balljoint. the BJ kit 2x more expensive but I'm down with what will work best.
hoping someone can shed some light on what the best direction to go is. I am worried about causing downstream problems so looking for any heads-up on other modifications I should be prepared to do or problems that could arise. maybe even the pros and cons of doing this at all.
I really love the look of these tires and wheels. I found a great deal on the set of American Racing wheels and couldn't turns it down. I don't know why but I just Love the look. but beginning to think that the juice ain't worth the squeeze with the different lug size and now height issues. hoping this last step of raising front won't be too much of a b**th. thanks
