Cargovanroy Welcome to the forum

What year are they, as that may help identify the VIN digits meanings...

Google is a might fine thing

According to Wikipedia X = Fairfax, Kansas and is now a closed plant.
It was for 1987 or older vehicles...

I just got a brand new 5.7 motor for my express van yesterday and I ask the parts guy if he could figure out the X on the Vin number... He came back and told me that it showed the Oshawa Truck Assembly Plant in Canada I googled the plant and it does not show any production of Express Vans at the plant but I will take the guys word for it....also the plant is closed down maybe they had a side assembly line for Vans at the plant

Hi Cargovanroy,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Is there a basic mechanical query you were

trying to contact the original assembly line

regarding, or were you just interested in the

vehicle origins for historical purposes?

Well, did you know you can get RPO code lists from the internet?

You can track a lot of important OEM build information directly

by referencing the RPO codes on the "Service Parts ID" sticker

in your glove box.
