Question How to Remove Plastic Trim on rear Bumper

Anyone ever take one off? Are there bolts under the bumper etc? Looking to remove the plastic trim on my rear bumper. Wanting to strip the "Foil Chrome" that is peeling up and then bed liner the bumper. TY for any help, advice etc.

Almost impossible…you can remove bumper and Lou will see the black tabs on the underside of the bumper. You may be able to pinch the tabs with a pliers and pull on the bumper cover..the tabs usually break off. A new bumper cover doesn’t cost that much

Hey thanks...I am thinking I should be able to tape up just under the plastic trim without removing. Wire brush on a drill the rest and just razor scrape off around the plastic trim. Then it is just a matter of painting the bed liner on neatly with new tape under and over the cap. Can not believe how cheaply "foiled" the bumper "Chrome" is. Thinking of screwing in a couple of red reflectors on each end of the rear bumper after I bed liner it. The front is still in excellent shape so will have mismatched bumpers but whatever. Looking into a self stick on Diamond Plate Chrome finish Vinyl may be an option as well. Trying to decide.

There’s an eBay seller “Pathfindery” who is selling complete replacement chrome rear bumpers for $161. That’s crazy cheap.
