2003 Chevy Express 1500 - Interior lights all work when turned on individually but do not turn on when doors are opened or using the panel switch. The panel switch was just replaced, all courtesy light fuses and relays checked.

In my van, the bulbs that you turn on individually are not the same ones that illuminate when doors are open.


What about your manual dome light switch that turns them all on ... what does it do?

 

That switch is part of the panel we replaced (see attached). Both the button and dial depress. The dial turns. Nothing. Headlights work fine. . ..it clicks and we can hear the relay click.we'll look at the service manual tomorrow and see if there are separate bulbs but would be surprised that they died at the same time. We suspect at this point it's a wiring problem.

 

to turn on dome lights, turn the small dial all the way to the right until it clicks into position.


the button on the left turns automatic illumination on/off.

 

And the button on the lower left is the override for the dome. When depressed, the lights don't go on with the door opening.
