My name is Tony and I'm new here. I happen to be a retired ASE and US Army mechanic who likes his car projects.
Here is my new to me 2001 G3500 Toy Hauler Project. I purchased it, in 2018, like this with only 19,000 miles on it.
Last year I did a lot of work to it, with more to come, and I wanted to share it with you. I'll be posting as time allows; pictures, details and my plans from the start, till now, and until it is finished. FYI - Just to put it out there too. I'm in need of the CORRECT style Center Console for a deep style diesel engine cover.
Hope you enjoy the ride as I post the story on the progress of my 3500 Toy Hauler If you happen to know where I can find the right center console - please let me know. Thank you. Sincerely, Tony
Here is a picture of the G3500, Cutaway that I purchased in 2018 for my Toy Hauler Project.
NOTE: It has a 6.5 turbo diesel with only 19,100 original miles when I got it. Purchased this G3500 Cutaway in 2018.. This is how it looked when I got it with only 19,100 original miles.

This was the next day after I drove it home from where I got it out west. This is when I got home after driving it from out west, where I purchased it, and I also hauled the power-plant for another project of mine with me, on the back.
If anyone can help - I need of the CORRECT style Center Console for a deep style diesel engine cover.
NOTICE how flat the face on the engine cover is and also that it is much longer or deeper than most Express Van engine covers.
This 6.5 Diesel Engine Cover is different that most. NOTICE how flat the face is and also that it is much longer or deeper than most Express Van engine covers.
This looks like a fun build. Waiting for the final product!
Thank you. Last year I had the flatbed made and installed.
I also installed the sleeper box and had my friend make the frame to box mounting brackets.
FYI - I'll be posting more and I plan to use it this summer..
The next morning, after bringing this sleeper box home; I started at around 8am and I gutted everything that was bolted or screwed in and could easily be removed.
I want to have my own personalize layout and have a; flip up bed, refrigerator, microwave and TV.
