Default Noise after changing oil

I wanted to try some thicker oil so I did 15w 40 because its getting up to 210k. Now i have a sound which sounds like rod knock but my oil pressure is fine. the rest of the engine sounds much better.

Could anyone take a guess what this is or possibly confirm it? if anyone has any suggestions for trouble shooting as well please let me know.

Don't do that. Use the recommended oil.

Try running it without the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away.

Took the serpentine belt off and its as quiet as a mouse fart. Spun as many wheels as I could besides the harmonic balancer and the water pump. what would be my next course of action?

Put the belt back on and use a stethospcoe on each component to isolate the noise. A lentgh of heater hose works well. Please be VERY careful as you are working around spinning parts, belts, fans etc
