Yup that's the same 'L8T' engine that's in the vans. Iron block. No cylinder deactivation or auto stop/start.

I imagine the constant oil burning must foul up the whole system with carbon deposits, and reduce catalytic converter life. Not to mention jam up the piston rings.

This engine was introduced by GM io 2020, and I did some research on this engine and it seems that a lot of people are complaining that it burns oil.

I am just trying to find out if owners of this engine see oil burning issues with it in their vans, and how severe.
I am not about to buy a new van so that i can add 1qt of oil every 1000 miles...

What is the reliability of this vehicle if maintenance is kept up to date.

Any feedback highly appreciated.
I have 2024 Chevy 2500 and it absolutely burns oil, just checked it yesterday NO READING ON THE DIPSTICK , 2 quarts low, 35 percent oil change life left , probably would have been 3 quarts low at oil change, this is absolutely insane, truck was doing this with 15,000 miles , now had 25 k , brand new truck, would never buy Chevy again, i didn't buy a brand new truck to have to check oil constantly and be adding oil for the rest of its life
