Mountain man recommended the car wizard you tube and it is an excellent 32 minute read.
One of wizard s tips is using some huge long extensions to get at fittings too tight to access w a standard socket. One of the car wizard s tips was how to do that.
at 140$ an hour OP could buy some of the stuff the wizard recommends . Get that o 2 sensor out !,,
Mitch are you saying the o2 sensors are removed from above?

all I know is what I learned from joining this forum and mountain man Joe and watching lots of you tubes. I did learn that I needed to have my own OBDII code reader (Actron 9630 $140. $) and to look at the DTC codes and freeze frames myself when a check engine CEL lite comes on instead of running to auto zone . (and buy my own chiltons and Haynes manuals, $19.99 for the 3500 engines from 99 to 2010. ) (PS - OP, my 3500 on an 07 chassis with roadtrek buildout to 9,000 #gets 13. mp g on regular gas. yours is getting 10??? )

yes I think I'm getting around 10mpg this a average of city & highway an thats 70% hi-way 30% stop an go.babying the throttle. I'm keeping a close eye on the mpg.
AWD with VVT and I get about 12, so you're not far off.
Check your fuel trims.
will I need HP (horse power) tuners to check these fuel trims?
will receive the exhaust clamps in a few days #7 which has 2 bolts broken doesn't show any black carbon around cylinder head unlike #8 I do see blackness.
besides the broken bolt haven't inspected #1 for blackness.
after I initially install the exhaust clamps (starting w/ #7 & #8) should I heat cycle engine then snug the clamp a few times?
installed the clamps on cylinder 7 last week was kindof easy took longer to pull dog house back.
used blue medium lock tight.
#7 bolt that press's up to mannie is completley bottomed. accidently deleted image w/ take another next time I remove doghouse.
#8 was also easy had to trim the heat shield a tad, 8s bolt is much longer noway near being bottomed out,
saying installation was easy, I've gone an jinked myself so GM will get me back on #1. I'll have to lay on the rad core surport to reach in there for #1
