Default possible solution to rough idle/misfire

Hi all,

i have a 2003 express 2500 with the 6.0L engine. it ran very well but always had an idle issue where it would run rough, throw codes out like crazy and check engine light would flash.

i recently had a mechanic take a closer look at the entire van and he found that one of the O2 sensor wiring harnesses was being contacted by a suspension component. i think he said the control arm. the wire was abraded through to the bare wire creating a short which cascaded into multiple issues over time.

he was the only one to diagnose the issue after several attemtps by others. even after replacing injectors and checking other items, no one else found the problem.

long story short, he replaced the wiring harnes and the damaged sensor (it must have wigged out as a result) and problem was solved.

runs incredible now.

i recall searching these forums over the past year and there were so many with similar issues and codes and it seemed like an answer was often just beyond reach.

hope this helps.

Which wiring harness may that be to solve the problem?

I believe the problem stems from the term "wiring harness" verse a wire lead to the Oxy sensor that was damaged and replaced only?
