great stuff but trojan is aluminess and too pricey....shame as its perfect solution in my opinion. curious to know how they mount. maybe i can design my own and have it fabricated.

me too. Take some door measurements. plenty of junked vans. many have spare tire mounts on the back door.

 

Well my solution to this problem has become to get a box trailer to use on my trips that will have 2 spare tires on it the same size as the trailer tires so I will be set no matter which tire goes on me. In the city it's true I rarely need a spare since I always have CAA or AAA as you Yanks call it. I want to utilize the vast area between the frame rails for a tool storage area. Take a look under there sometime and see how much room there actually is. also I hate those cable holders for spares since they rust and break or make it impossible to use at the worse possible times.
