Removing OnStar?
I'm looking to trade my Astro for a much newer Express van, but I'm having trouble finding one without OnStar. It's not that I don't like the OnStar product, I just want an aftermarket stereo system(subs, video, rear camera...). I know that it hooks in to the stock sound system, but I don't know what affect, if any, disconnecting it from the stereo might have. Anybody know anything about this? Too many years ago, I was an installer, but the tech on OnStar is a little over my head.
Okay, I just Googled my question, and was totally taken aback by the paranoia regarding this product. So let's be clear. I am not with them. I don't believe that OnStar is tracking my every movement, and I am not trying to evade anyone. I actually like the product. It just doesn't fit in with my ultimate plans.

In the same respect I know several people who refuse to use EZ Pass because "THEY can track you"
When it first came out they were convinced that if you took a shorter amount of time than the speed limit allowed to get from one toll to another you would get a ticket in the mail!
