Default Service lights

Not long bought a Chevy 2500 passenger van 1997 I'm converting to a camper, it been stood for probably 13 years, I can't get it to start, got fuel got a spark but nothing. Both the service soon light is on and check gauges. The immobiliser seems to be working correctly as after I take the key out it beeps so I think it's ok.Not much else I can think of except I was told it needs a water pump I've ordered an original part, there isnt any coolant in the engine as it's been drained or leaked out could this be the gauge issue, any help would be appreciated, Regards Steve

How do you know it is getting fuel? Try spraying some starter fluid or gas into the throttle body and try and start it. If it runs for a few seconds you are not getting fuel and will need to change the fuel filter and probably the fuel pump also. After spaying the gas and it doesn't start, then you are not getting spark.

I've taken the interior bulk head out to access the engine, on one of the fuel lines there's a valve I unscrewed it and pressed the valve in, there was fuel there so I'm inclined to think I have fuel pressure, I will order a new fuel pump and fuel filter, i will try starting fluid, it takes time to order parts because I live in the UK, I want a reliable camper so yea I'll get those parts ordered. Thanks for the advice and replying so soon.

You didn't state about the condition of the gasoline.

Default Gasoline condition

I've just looked at the tank, I'm replacing the filter I found one at the local store here in the UK, I collect it tomorrow, so now I've decided to remove the fuel tank replace the fuel pump, filler neck and hoses to the tank, tank straps .Ive searched everywhere on the web but it looks like I need to order the parts from a specialist here in the UK.Im going to drain the fuel tank tomorrow weather permitting and I really don't know where to start with the fuel lines with regard to flushing them out, but you definatly have a good point hence the not so intelligent conversation on my behalf.I really don't know yet but it did smell ok when released the valve to check it.I actually think one problem is the tank is empty and there's not enough pressure because the fuel is low or simply not enough for the 50 psi it needs to start as it's parked on a sloped drive
