My 1978 Chevy Van 10! Handed down from my grandfather and only had just under 15k original miles. I am in love with this van, I've wanted it since I was 8. If anyone knows where I can get the plastic cover that goes over the roof vent it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

It looks like a standard 14"x14" camper/RV vent. Shouldn't be a problem finding a new cover. They do come with a couple different types of hinge setups so take a close look at yours before buying. I have metal vent covers on my trailer. If you don't need/want light coming through, I'd get one of those. They can really take a beating and won't deteriorate in the Sun.

I bought this ridiculous old Chevy conversion van in a beach community outside of San Diego in 2012. It's now in West Virginia. This poor ramshackle thing was built and modified in Abbortsford, British Columbia. I have not the time to figure out the fridge or the heater, but the propane stove does work. The solar panel works to charge up batteries for cell phones and light in the evening. I put in two batteries and some extra stuff for all that. Just put in an inverter -- could charge a laptop, if desperate, which happens, because i work in IT.
No joke, this is a beast. The engine should last. Best estimate on travel, since purchase, 5,000 miles. LOTS of maintenance by yours truly: installed a radiator backflush, changed the oil a couple times, tranny filter and fluid, spark plugs and wires and dist cap, new serpentine belt and idler pulley. Also I stared at the engine a lot, which has to count for something.
Cost in six months since purchase, not including gas: $1,500. total kilometerage, that is, canadian-speak: 313,347, 194704 in miles. pretty good for a Chevy van, actually. More pictures coming, as I just got a new camera, and can't figure out the web site anyways.

I have a 1989 Chevy G-20 Fiesta Campervan Conversion. It has performed admirably but there is always something to look at or repair. In the 2 years I have owned this van, it has travelled to southern Mexico and back to Canada. My previous vehicle was a 1958 Chevy 1/2 t longbox stepside.
In this last photo, the van is in Acapulco next to my neighbours 1971 VW which I ended up using a towbar and towing from Mazatlan to Tucson due to multiple breakdowns and roadsize fires.
