Default Something electrically weird just happened

Hi all,
First post so bear with me. We have a 2005 Express 3500 LS 12 passenger. My wife was driving last night and said the interior lights all came on while driving down the interstate, like someone had just opened the door. So she pulled off the highway and stopped at a gas station, and opened then shut all the doors, but the interior lights stayed on. She shut off the engine and waited, the lights stayed on until the safety timeout.

I drove the van this morning and noticed that the clock and the odometer are dimming ever so slightly, very randomly. The interior lights are still ON all the time, and time out the same as described above. There are not warning dummy lights on the dash. I do not have open door indicator, and no DIC in this van, not even sure if it was an option or not. It is an LS trim level, but still very Base in terms of options.

I have done nothing to troubleshoot yet, I'm in the information gathering stage. Found some electrical schematics on AutoZone website that I'm getting familiar with.

I have no specific questions at the moment, just getting a topic started, and to log my troubleshooting.

since you don't get a "door open" warning, I would suspect the dome light switch circuit. Could be shorting out somewhere.
