Default Strange behaviour with relay for headlamp

Hi,

I have a strange behaviour with my headlamps (or head and rearlamps). When the ignition is on (engine off) and headlamps are on and I use the turn signal everything works fine.
However when I have the engine running and the headlamps on and I use the turn signal, the headlamps go off and then on again, off, on... When I remove the relay, which is next to the turn signal relay unter the steering wheel, all is fine and the lights stay on, when using the turn signal and engine is running.
I have made a
, where you can see the issue. I already got a new relay, even though I checked the old one and seemed to be working fine.

Anyone an idea, what the problem is? At the moment I am driving around without that relay and it is fine - what do I actually need that relay for?

Best regards,
Lukas

ps here is a pic of the relay:

When I understood correct, that relay is used for fog lights, so there should not be any interaction with the headlamps, right?

Anyone an idea, why it still does so, when the engine is running?

Can you swap it with another relay?

If you trace your problem to a bad relay you might want to review THIS post and consider filing a complaint with NHTSA (link in the post)
as this may be a defective part problem.
NHTSA can order a recall but there needs to be a number of complaints on file.
