Ok so I spent more time underneath the vehicle today, since I was able to now drive up the curb to get some clearance to get underneath up front there. I was just watching the fan, and all the pulleys and noticed that the harmonic balancer, water pump pulley, and the radiator fan all have a wobble. The wobble at the harmonic balancer is more noticeable than the water pump and fan. There was also a very faint SQUel from the belt off and on on startup, and when it would squeal it seemed like the fan would slow down. Then after a little while it went away. Might of been moisture from all the rain, or it might've been something else. Now I am stumped, because I swear it wasn't doing this before. The harmonic balance, yes that was looking out of whack a couple weeks ago, but not the water pump. I was meaning to post about the HB.
I noticed that the Inner Fender Splash Shield was snapped. seems like it was more or less in the right place. Not sure how that got snapped, but I think that was like that before. Not sure. I wonder if something got caught up in there from the flood water debris and jammed up the fan, but I closely inspected and the fan and it looks unbent and uncracked. It is a bit frayed though but it evenly frayed. It is not frayed much. I don't know if this photo is good enough for anybody to diagnose with but here it is
Perhaps that photo didn't upload. In any case I still don't know what the piece of plastic is called that the lower shroud bolts at the very bottom, they mount into it and no part numbers were listed on that piece. IT right above the radiator support. It is cracked and the reason why the shroud came foward. I might be able to get away with replacing just that. Zip tieing the shroud wasn't a good idea the way I did it because it was putting a lot of weight on one of the lower metal coolant delivery lines on the drivers side of the vehicle. This was causing coolant to leak. knock on wood it wasn't damaged permanently and created a pin hole leak for life.
here is a video of the van running from underneath. it's kind of hard to see but if you look at the end of the fan blades, there is a slight wobble. This is a brand new water pump by the way. Would be a shame for it to get damaged so quickly. seriously, I have the worst luck with cars most of the time. Brand new WP, tensioner, belt, idler pulley, etc, wtf is going on... I just hope this is not a big deal here.
