I was looking at replacement tail lights and noticed its really hard to find them for a 2009 and up Express van. Considering these are the same style since the 90's, I can't figure out what's different. Alignment tabs? Mounting points? Wiring harness? I just wonder if I buy a set of 2008 or earlier tail lights, how hard could it really be to modify them to fit my '09?

 

Here is what I was looking at trying to install on my '09 even though they say up through '08.
My lights are already sun-checked, and it's only been on the road for four years. I thought these black aftermarket lights may make the black plastic "crown" feel less out of place. When I have a few minutes, I've got to go pull mine off and see if they look like this on the back:
Again, if it's just a wiring harness difference, I can splice the wires pretty easily; I just can't figure out what Chevy would have changed between '08 and '09.
