Default Traction control 2008 chevy express 3500

I have a message on my dash that says service stability control and traction control.on my 2008 chevy express 3500
And it doesn't show my gears on the dash board anymore. And when I'm driving it doesn't shift gears it stays in 4th. And my reverse lights dont work while in reverse.
Any ideas?

Thanks for any info

ok they're all automatic. How many gears or what does the selector looks like? If you're not a car guy then you have to take it to a mechanic anyway right?

I looked up the GM brochures for 2009 and I think they old came with the old 4 speeds. Those are cable operated, not electronic. Inspect the transmission around the gear selector linkage for loose wire connectors.

Do you have anything plugged in to the OBD port? There was a GM bulletin about devices like an OBD reader or insurance device that can throw that code.
