Default Tranny temperature Switch location

Any reason I can't install a temperature switch on a 4L60-E tranny in the pressure switch port by the safety neutral switch? Both the return line and the pressure port are about the same height.

A temperature switch for the transmission. So I can keep track of it.

I'm confused. A switch turns things on and off. You mean a sensor? We covered that in your other transmission cooler topic.

post your model year, engine and trans. Most newer electronically controlled transmission already have the sensor even if its data is not displayed on the dash. If could be as simple as a cluster swap and reprogramming. Other options are a programmer or display device that connects at the dlc port.

What type of programmer and what's a, "dic" port. And where is it.?

He said DLC (diagnostic link connector). It's the same port your Bluedriver plugs into above the parking brake, and by "display device " he means a scan tool such as your Bluedriver.
