Our 1997 RV, built on a Chevy Express Van, was recently broken into while at the dealer for repairs. They took a lot, including the radio from the dash, but we can't remember what was in this square hole just right of the steering wheel and below the air vent. Obviously nothing all that essential since we haven't missed it yet, but we'd love to know what was there. Any help?
Rear heat control....if you have the rear heat without air conditioning.......depends on model and options....I never owned a 97, The owners manual shows it as a blank spot in the picture.
It is also blank. I do not like posting wrong information and thereby misleading people, but I was sure I had seen Tow/Haul in that location on the older dash. I cannot find it in pictures to verify it though. My guess is that if there is no wiring harness connector behind it and you do not know what you are missing, then you wouldn't know it was missing if you didn't know it was missing. All good in the hood so to speak.
Most of them are blank unless it has a fan control on it. I've never seen an 02-back with tow/haul mode.
If they broke that dash face, be aware 96-00 are different from 01-02, the radio gets taller and they cast a pocket in below it. You can see the difference in the 2001 picture above.
