Question What non Dexos oil have you used in your Chevy Exp???

Seems like we re much more limited as to what is GM "approved" as far as Motor Oil Goes. Other than AC DELCO (Blend) I mostly find only full synthetics like Valvoine advanced to have the Dexos1 approval. Let me hear what you use. My 2012 has 55k on her and I can not decide what to use. Leaning towards a blend as I am a bit worried about leaks..
Thanks so much,
J

Full synthetic 5W30 Kirkland from Costco. Then I pair it with a very good filter. Fram ultra synthetic XG10575.

Really? Wow well that threw me sideways.. lol How long have you been using it millage wise? Yea I am a Wix Filter guy. My last 2008, 6.0 3500 loved them. Well seems the full synth is pretty popular and the Dexos thing...not so much. AI says Kirkland IS approved at least so that is good as I am seeing the label on some Valvoline bottles of Full Synth as well. TY Triage

Please realize this isn't the direct application filter. Direct is PF48 which is shorter and has a lower bypass pressure. The filter I use crosses to a PF63. There is plenty of room for the extra height and the higher bypass pressure keeps filtering even when clogged and cold. There is a GM bulletin out there that says you should/could use a PF63 where a PF48 is called out. The Fram ultra synthetic has a very good filter media so clogging with a reasonable change interval shouldn't be a big deal. I just go by the dash and try to work it into my schedule at 20%.

I have a 2015 with about 55kmi on it. No leaks. I got it pre-pandemic with about 20kmi on it. Been using the Kirkland ever since. Gone back and forth from Wix/M1/Fram always trying to go for the best filter I can for the money (always the highest line filter).
