AC Delco oil filters
For the last 13 years I have been getting my Mobile ! oil and AC filters at Walmart because the oil is $6 cheaper and the filters are about $3 cheaper than Autozone.Last Saturday I was in a hurry and didn't want to fight traffic to WM so I got them at AutoZone. The PF48 (12710960) had what appears to be Chinese writing on the top,Arabic on one side,Spanish on another, and another language I don't recognize on the other side.Is this something new or something I have not noticed? Just curious if anybody else has noticed this.Thanks.

Some American filter manufacturers make filters for several makes of vehicles.
Unfortunately most discount houses look to make the most $$$ on products sold and quality is not at the top of the list.
There are reasons why shops stay with OEM parts.
You have to be careful because some counterfeiters copy the logo /colors of the packaging material and confuse purchasers into thinking they are buying OEM when they are buying as earlier posted ,,,JUNK.
A lot of foreign made parts don't measure up to American quality and performance. Believe it or not, the people that make those junk parts will only buy American made parts for their own vehicles.

Purolators were the first automotive oil filters made, back in the day when those old automobiles
came from the factory without any oil filters

That's a good price for the AC filters from Rock-Auto.Last month I noticed some STPs were made in China.Today I had to put a Mobile oil filter(Made in USA) on my 99 suburban.I couldn't find an AC PF1218.I'll swap it out with an AC as soon as I find one. What bothered me about the PF48 from Autozone was that it said "Product of USA",not "Made in USA".Maybe I'm getting too paranoid, especially since it had all that foreign writing on the box. There's a lot of counterfeit parts out there.

GM warrants their gas engines for 60K miles and the diesels for 100K. They would not install and recommend AC filters if they were not up to the job. I would beware of the counterfeits. Wix is a good alternative if you can't find AC, they have an excellent reputation.
David, you are right.I am going to get my AC Delco filters from the chevy dealship from now on and keep the receipts.I would bet there are counterfeit AC filters out there.I run a WIX in my 65 Malibu 283 canister type oil filter.
