Default wheel well liners?

I have a 2003 express 2500 and there isnt plastic liners inside the front wheel wells. If you peak in there you can see a portion of the side of engine block. Are they are supposed to have liners?

Yes, but I've taken them out in the past. They don't really do much.

Great, i was hoping i didnt need to replace them.

I was worries about water splashing the side of the block, the side of the cylinder head is exposed without the liner.

If i picked some up at the junkyard i am guessing any year will fit.... but i dont want to do that really.

I didn't have problems without the liner. No buildup or anything.

If you really wanted, I'm sure you could cut out any old rubber/plastic material (mud flaps?) and attach it with sheet metal screws.
