Default wire or fuse to splice to make anti theft fuel pump cut off ?

Hi , i have a 2005 base panel van ,

I want to put a simple toggle switch to cut off power to the fuel pump relay ,
Do I just pull the fuse under the front hood and extend the "fuse" with wire and put an external fuse and switch ? Is there something I can buy from Amazon etc

or is there a way to do it with the under seat fuse box .

There has been a rash of truck and van thefts lately , and my door lock has already been pushed in !
I do not leave anything worth stealing in the front of the truck , but I do not want the truck to disappear .

Thanks for your help

picture of fuse extender , is there a cheaper way , these are over $10 on Amazon

There's a way to it under the dash, but I forget. You can simply put a switch in a signal wire to/from the transmission and nothing is going to happen it is off. I think even the alarm products or something rather use that wire.

Your van's VTD system already disables the fuel injection system. The only way to disable security is for the correct key to be sensed. Punching the lock won't disable it, and forcing the cylinder to rotate won't disable it either. Doing this will only trip the tamper switches. If the thief is skilled and equipped enough to know how to bypass a Passlock system, then he's not going to be stopped by a fuse.

I have a base van and "dumb" keys so I do not think I have a VTD

So blocking power to the fuel pump relay / fuel pump will be something , the thief will try and start it , it will make noise and not start , but I doubt he will run the battery down as the van is parked near houses and its a chance of being detected .

I guess I could also do something to the neutral safety switch wire , but I like the noise of trying to start it

The lazy way would be to just pull one of the ECM fuses, plug a couple leads in, run one through an inline fuse holder, and then to a toggle switch somewhere. It would slow a thief down as he has to figure out why it's not starting.

It would be better to find a wire that has to be hot for it to start and put a switch on it somewhere in a place not particularly obvious, because the longer it takes the thief to steal it the more likely he is to give up.

i have actually gone out and disconnected the battery overnight , problem with that is it takes a few minutes for the computer to 'learn' and run correctly ,
thats why i was thinking the fuel pump would do the same thing but not have to learn anything.....

Yes it's a dumb key, but the fuel system is still disabled. Passlock wasn't optional. All 2002-2005 vans are equipped with it.

They all disable the vehicle since around 1995. It says so on the first page of the article you linked.

I forget where I found this, but this is an immobilization point.

My advice is to read the Upfitter manual for your year.
