05 chevy 1500 dash lights
I know this has probably come up before, but I could use some guidance. I just bought the truck and the right half of the instrument cluster is dark along with most the steering wheel lights and half the heating gauge lights. I know you can replace the bulbs, but is that the only option before you have to replace the actual gauges? Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
The bulbs are not supplied by GM, we have to send clusters out and have them repaired. Also there was a "special policy" covering clusters on 03 to 05 trucks up to
70K miles.

So the bulbs are the same throughout the entire dash? That would mean I would have to get a new instrument cluster, heating controls, and steering wheel if I wanted them all to light up right? Since the truck has 90k on it it's not eligable for anything I guess.
Steering wheel controls can be replaced without replacing the steering wheel
