Default 1955 3100

I have a 1955 3100 that is 98% original was given to me by step father when he passed. i have checked the numbers and heads intake and block all match the truck. Here is my question i need to rebuild the motor but truck was down for over 18 months on the body work so i have not droven it much. I am wanting to put a used motor in while i rebuild this one at what year did they stop putting the holes in front of block for the motor mounts. I am not interested in buying the adaptor for a newer motor i just want to have a truck to cruise until i can get the original motor back in thanks

I'm having to guess is it a 283? Since it is a one ton, would have to be a v-8, but not a 409 as those came out in 1961.

You can get good mounting bolts at <cite>boltdepot. They have a pretty good collection of it. Your truck engine was down for 18 months, that's a huge time, you should really check if the motors still function as they should.
