1997 cavalier electric problem
No power to part of inside fuse block; turn-bu, erls, alarm, pcm/ign, ing, f/p-inj, airbag, and cruise, first two rows. Out side block has power to all except abs 20a, looks like the only one in that row. All fuses are good out and in. Security light stays solid, of course no power in the start crank position. Ing, two red -hot, yellow becomes hot when key is turned on. Start position, test light goes out on yellow. No power at pink any key position. Starter is good, can jump wires turns over. Pulled it out of garage sat for about a week, batt went dead. Now this might be a cause, father and a friend tried to jumpstart it, then told me about the problem that there was nothing at the start crank position. Wondering??? Any ideas please let me know.
the theft deterrent is ruled out...the theft deterrent will only stop the fuel injectors from working. The car should still crank if it was a theft deterrent problem...so
all the circuits you mentioned are powered from the ignition switch connector c1 pin A, pink wire. Move to the ignition switch and check for power there at the connector and pin suggested. should have power in run and start positions.
switch is located on the right side of the steering column. should be 2 6pin connectors but only one should have a pink wire.
