Default 1998 Cevy Metro

I have a 1998 Chevy Metro that i bought from an elderly couple...It had 14000 miles ..It now has 19000 miles...

Car starts and idles fine...When i go to put it in reverse or drive...It stalls...This dosent happen all the time...But it is starting to anoy me...What could it be????

sounds like a feul pump gone bad. my car did that to me a a light. when it turned green the car died. sumtimes cars that dont get driven that much, the feul system gets gumed up so maby a fuel filter and some injector cleaner might be a good idea as well.

the car idols fine its when you put into drive or reverse that it wants to stall.

ya sumtimes the car will idle fine its becuse when you put the extra load on the fuel system from puting it in drive that it stalls. also you may want to replace the plugs as they may have fouled from the car not geting used that much before you got it.
