Default 2002 Cavalier Backup Lamp problems

I found a previous thread on this problem but there was no solution posted, so I'm going to post my problem now.

I have a 2002 LS Sport 5-speed, and the backup lights are not working. I checked the fuse, checked the bulb, put an ohm meter on the backup light switch that is on the transmission, tested the connector that attaches to the switch on the transmisssion, and the wiring back to the backup lights for continuity and everything checked OK. But the lights still don't work. Does anybody have any suggestions. Thanks!

Did you check the ground or the bulbs/ sockets for corrosion?
