2002 silverado 1500 5.3 4x4 throttle issues
I changed the TPS and IAC while doing so I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body. I didn't realize that after changing said parts there is a relearn procedure. I was told that there are manual procedures and that I might be able to do it with a diagnostic tool. I learned that because of the age of the vehicle the diagnostic tool won't reset it. My question is what are the procedures I need to do to get it running right? The problems I'm having is rough and sometimes high idle. It also surges at stop lights. When driving there is very little throttle response it gets up to speed just fine but I can let completely off the gas and 90% of the time my speed doesn't change if anything it picks up speed. I'm constantly riding the brake. When I go to stop it does ok until right before I stop completely and it downshifts from 2nd to first hard at around 1000 rpm then after the shift it idles at around 800 rpm and surges. I'm not sure if that makes sense but it's the best way I can describe it. The cruise control does work as it should.
