Default 2006 Chevrolet Car - Burning piece behind cluster and cut wires

Hello all,
I recently bought a Chevrolet Optra from a Mitsubishi dealership in my town. The car was working fine but there was a few problems that I noticed before the 30 day warranty was up (Airbag light on, right headlight was dim, steering wheel vibration)

They said they fixed it all but about a week ago I started smelling burning plastic and eventually saw smoke come from behind my instrument cluster. I took it apart and noticed that a "junction box" (don't know what it is called) that wires go into has been burnt also three purple wires were cut but I am not sure if the dealer did this because possibly the air bag light was on because it had deployed and they cut the wire??

I have attached some pictures.
If you know why it might be burning or even what that housing piece is called that the wires go into that would be extremely helpful.
Also what are those three purple wires that were cut?

Thanks everybody

oh and they said they "reset the airbag light"??? and changed the bulb to the right headlight but it is still dim like before

The smoking/burning only comes about when I turn the night headlights on, even if the parking lights or day lights are on it doesnt smell or smoke
