2013 Silverado another vibration issue
2013 Chevy Silverado Half ton extended cab 4 x 4 5.3 L motor no modifications completely stock. 154,000 miles. Has tow haul package.
Under light acceleration the tachometer bounces up and back down just slightly and every time it does there is a vibration or shudder. With a little heavier acceleration it vibrates worse but the tachometer doesn’t bounce quite as much. When I accelerate hard it does not shudder or vibrate.
I tried to post a video of the tachometer while doing this but, for some reason it wouldn’t take. So I will try to describe it as best I can.
I originally thought that it was possibly a U-Joint or the torque converter. But, I am getting no codes for anything and the driveshaft seems to be tight.
I quit driving the truck for about a month and I just got back in it today and noticed that the tachometer was bouncing and matching the timing of the vibration or shutter that it is doing.
For example, if I am on the interstate and have the cruise control set at 65 and I start to go up a smaller size hill when it starts to lightly accelerate the tachometer will bounce just slightly and at the same time every time it does it vibrates or shutters just slightly almost like what it feels like when you run over somewhat wore out rumble strips like when you’re coming up to a stop sign and they are trying to warn you about the stop sign with rumble strips across the lane.
As I mentioned before there are no codes but, my code reader shows emission lights that are red and they are
FUE CAT EVA 025 HTR and EGR
OK, I did find a couple of codes under the Chevrolet ABS. I have a C0710 and a C0455- 00.
My traction control and stability track lights come on all the time every since I bought the truck basically. I have had it at the dealer several times they cleaned and checked electrical connections replaced a throttle position sensor which I had heard had caused those codes before and or the lights to come on in other peoples trucks.
If you read this and you know there is another thread that covers it I would appreciate if you let me know where. I drive quite a bit and by the time I stop I usually go straight to sleep and don’t spend a lot of time on the phone just a little bit while I’m driving or fueling up or something.
When it vibrates or stutters I feel it in the floor pan with my feet more than anywhere else.
The more I think about it I wonder if the fuel pump is going out? Since it is doing it on acceleration and it is showing on the tachometer.
The only fuel pump I have ever had go out before just went out I never had it vibrate or do anything. Like that.
Thanks in advance for any and all help or advice.
