I'm working on a 350 thats pretty much stock other than a cam, intake, carb, and stall. I was swapping the cam out and noticed the timing gear had worn into the block thrust area. I then checked the distributor gear which was worn badly. Will replacing the distributor gear help with any future problems or will the thrust area need to be machined and shimmed?

Any help or info is appriciatied.
