Hey, I have an old C65 truck with a 454 that will only start if I pump it 5-6 times, and then dies after a few seconds. Has an edelbrock carb and performer rpm intake manifold. I have about 8 psi of fuel pressure, I took the carb apart to inspect and clean, couldn't see anything wrong. Checked the fuel filter, doesn't seem to be plugged. Also has good spark. Just wondering if anybody might have any ideas, thanks

 

Can you keep it running if you feather the gas pedal?

 

Not really, just dies after a few seconds. It seems to be running really rich, in the short time that it does run.
