4l60e is having problems need diagnostic suggestions
I have a 4l60e transmission that was rebuilt. It drove great for a while but it went out again.
The clutch packs burned up the first time.
this time I’m not sure what happened.
I was driving one day and came to a stop. Light turned green so I took off and got up to like 15mph and it just quit. No warning no noise nothing it just quit accelerating.
had to have it towed home.
it acts as if it is in neutral no matter what gear it’s in and if you try pushing it on flat ground it is way more difficult than it should be.
checked linkage and cable and all that. It’s fine.
the fluid is somewhat burned, but I never checked it when I got it back from being repaired so I’m not sure if they re used some of the old fluid(I know sometimes it’s better not sure exactly why) or if they replaced it and it burned up again.
anybody know some diagnostics I can use to try and determine what’s going on?
also when it’s running it makes a noise similar to the torque converter bolts being backed off slightly but their tight, this didn’t start until I got it home and started messing with it. I put it on stands and ram through the gears and messed with drive shafts. I didn’t take anything apart.
thank you all for any help!

Me and my fiancé are having this same problem with our 97, had it rebuilt and it did it the first time. Took it back to the same guy and he said it was the front pump, he replaced it for free.. Truck drove great for a little while but on his way back from a muffler shop it just stopped accelerating, nothing made a noise but then the flywheel and torque converter are shaking like they are loose. (keep in mind he just paid for a “brand new” 2500 stall torque converter that the guy put in for him) making a sort of knocking sound. When he cranks it up, won’t go into any gear seems as if always in neutral.. Any tips on how to fix this ?
