i have a 93 chevy g-20 with a 4l60e trans it just died the other day and my question is can i use any 4l60e or does it have to be from a g-20 any help would be greatly appreciated

 

you have to get one with the same specs as your old on. thats weird though. with a 93 i didnt think they had computer controlled trans in em. i would of thouht your trans was a 700r4. 700r4 is the non electric controlled 4l60e. in essence they are the same trans. one uses a vacuum modulator one doesnt. but for your application, get specs to your old one and match it. if it says that it was not electric controlled then you cant use any 4l60e. if it is then most likely yes.
