My 2013 Silverado 1500 with 4L60e suddenly stopped shifting into 3rd/4th gear. It will do a hard shift into 3rd (like hits a slight false neutral before shifting) but it won’t go into 4th. I have replaced both shifting solenoids, filter, and oil. Any ideas what the issue could be? I’m trying to decide to try another cheaper option or just go ahead and get a whole new transmission.

 

Common issue with the 4L is the torque converter failing internally and sending stator, lockup clutch, etc metal thru the valve body and into the transmission hydraulic vanes. Likely this failure has occurred. How did the fluid look when changed?
