Default 700R4 flywheel cover

I am a first time Chevy product owner and have a question. I have a 700R4 transmission out of an early 90's Chevy 4x4 that is missing he flywheel /torque converter cover. If I grab one from the junkyard does it matter if I get one from a 4x4 or 2WD? I understand there are 2 different covers, one with rear mounting bolts and one without.

Shouldnt matter. The transmission case is the same on either.

Great. Thanks. Now if I can just figure out what the three prongs are supposed to go to on the speedometer sender on the t-case I'll be good to go. It's an NP231. I am guessing one is signal, one is ground and one is power?
