my fuel gauge doesnt work. what can be some causes of this problem? i have a 91 cheyenne single cab,swb. 262 4.3L v6, 700r4 tranny.. what are some causes of a broke fuel gauge??

 

Alot of Gm cars and trucks have broken gas gauges at sometime. 9 times out of 10 it is the sending unit. You need disconnect the connector on top of the tank and touch the gauge wire to ground if the gauge moves you need the sending unit. Unfortunatly I can not remember what color the wire is. If you have a test light and hook it to ground turn the key on and look for power, after you identify the power wires you can touch any of the non power wires to ground.
