Won’t turn over, good battery all fuses good,,drove home and put a fuel pressure reg in it (scanned truck earlier),now turn key dash comes on, roll to start nothing ,is there a starter relay ?,I’ve owned since July ,I don’t know if there’s an alarm sys ,I disconnected the battery when I was working on it also I could use a schematic,so I can jump the starter, really could use some help !
What this tells us is that there is no relay, but there is a solenoid. That solenoid is built into the starter, or at least on the side of it, and they are usually sold as a single unit.
My 1996 C1500 did the same thing to me in a dentist's parking lot this summer, and just didn't even click when I came out of the dentist. I had a tow truck haul me back home, pulled the starter, and went to Autozone for a new one. The kids behind the counter didn't know what they were doing when they tested the starter, as I watched and saw that he got it to turn but wasn't putting the wires onto the solenoid terminal, but directly energizing the starter motor, bypassing the solenoid. A new starter took care of my truck.
