98 chevy 1500 crank no start
I have a 98 chevy 1500 that I had running lastnight and it just shut off I went back to start it back up and it would just crank and not fire, I turned the key and am sure i hurd the fuel pump go and fyi the fuel gauge dose not work and yes i put fuel in it so anybody have any clue whats up?
Just because the fuel pump is running, doesn't mean it is producing enough pressure. Check the fuel pressure. Spray some starter fluid down the throttle body and see if it fires for a second or two. Are you getting a check engine light? That will lead you in the direction of the problem.
It can be a few different things wrong... if you know someone that can read the check engine code for you, ask them to run a quick check for you. Once you get the code post it and we will be able to tell you whats going wrong
