Default 98 Z71 Won't Start

I just replaced the engine on my truck. Everything is hooked up correctly and the distributor has been installed correctly. Its cranking and sounds like it wants to start, but it isn't. Its getting fuel, so I'm thinking it has to be an ignition problem. Is there a common part to fail on this truck? Ignition coil, ICM, coil pack? Or maybe it something that I'm not checking? I plugged my scanner in and there are no codes, (I suspected maybe the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft would cause a code if they were at fault). Do you recommend any specific order in which I should check the parts? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Its at TDC and the distributor rotor hits dead nuts with the mark that it should. I haven't tried rotating it, but from my understanding, rotating on this model will only serve to adjust the cam retard offset. I forgot to mention that its a 5.7L.
