I recently had my 2000 Venture at a local mech. He did some engine work. Now that I have the vehicle back the remote start will not work. The lights turn on, the fan turns on, then the lights blink and everything shuts off. Is this something the mech disabled? Can I enable it if so? how? The remote works for the door locks. The car doesn't have an alarm that I'm aware of.

Likely the hood pin switch has been disconnected. This is a safety switch so the vehicle can't be remotestarted while the hood is up.... preventing injury.
