Default brake light/car won't start

I just replaced the passanger side brake light on my 03' malibu. After I put the new bulb in and put the lighting harness back together the car will not start! Most things electrical won't work. The headlights work and that's it. I tried to jump the battery and nothing. Any suggestions?

thanks,
mark

Default RE: brake light/car won't start

thanks for you help. After about a day of checking fuses and trying to jumpstart the carmy father sugggested that maybee the battery had coincidently died at the same time. It turns out the batter (which had never gave me a problem before) was soo dead that it wouldn't even take a jump. I went to Wal-Mart bought a new battery and problem solved.

Thanks for you advice though
