Default airbag warning light

I have an 04 Impala and the airbag warning light keeps coming on. What could be the problem?

I just took my 02 trailblazer in for the same problem. SDM module was the code. Body shop said if the light blinks,it's not a good sign. If it stays on constantly, the airbags won't deploy when they should.

The light does not stay on all the time. It comes on for a little while then goes off for a little while. Should I run a code scan?
