Of the two Lokar and B&M, which do you consider the best and why.

Default auto trans,floor shifter conversion

It depends on what kind of car its going in. For a street rod, I think I'd go Lokar. They've got more styles for that genre.Thay are REAL pricey, but good quality. As for any other advice, I find them to be "stuffed shirts".
For a muscle car, go B&M. Ther stuff seems beefier, and more geared to muscle. I also find them more personable and much more eager to help you in other directions if they haven't got what you're looking for.
Both will definately get the job done

Thanks for the reply. Actually the install will be in a Colorado. Does one install easier than the other. Do they both lock into gears the same and have the same feel. Ken

From what I remember, Lokar actually mounts the shifter mechanism to the trans case (below the floorpan)whereas the B&M usually mounts to the tunnel(inside the interior). I would guess after looking at them, that the B&M would be easier to mount just cause you don't have to cut a big hole in the tunnel for the shifter. B&M also makes a "universal" pan mounted bracket which makes it a snap to hook up. Their actual shift arm is really sloppy on a 700r4 and that can make adjusting a pain. I believe the Lokar uses a rod to connect.
A question to consider is whether or not you are using a center console. If you are, the lokar would be a pain.Don't get me wrong, the Lokar is a really nice product( I hate to say that - their customer service sucks)
I would suggest you talk to somebody at Jegs or Summit for more onfo. Of course you can also call Lokar or B&M, but their advice would be biased.
Good luck.
