Back from the dead
Hi
Im reviving a box truck that sat for 14 years. Right now I'm changings belts and hoses, but Im having an issue with the power steering pump. I can find no way to adjust the pump tension. There is NOT a standard slot with a bolt thru it to rock the pump back and forth. Believe me, I've looked extensively, many times. Is there another style of mount? I cant find that anywhere either , if there is. I have no history on this truck, so who knows what may have been modified.
Anyway, I appreciate any input I may get.

Wow, crickets...So, no one has heard of any non-typical power steering pump tensioner arraignment that might be what I'm dealing with here? The mounting brackets and stuff do not look jury rigged, noting jumps out as odd, other than not having that pivot slot. I've been looking at parts pictures, Is this part of the mount something that someone in the past could have left off? I could probably loosen the whole pump enough to force the belts off and back on, but then I still have no tensioner. That's how it was to begin with and the belt was really visible way too loose.
Any way, I still stuck on this issue and would like to get unstuck. Please give me a shout out even if all you have is a guess.
Thanks

"right", but that's the way they were manufactured way back then, on some vehicles.

Yep, it turns out this is the answer here, Both books I have on this truck and all online references I could find say it has the regular tensioner, but it just is not so.I've passed this minor hurdle, so on to more fun.
