Default batteries die after in storage

Hello Everyone it's been awhile: Question Why does a new battery die after setting a few wks? During that time I disconnect the ground wire from the batt. Now I'm speaking of a 1963 chevy ss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I went through 2 batt.now. Thank and have a great wk!!!

If you are disconnecting the battery and it still goes dead after sitting, then you must be getting bad batteries. Where are you buying them?

when you unhook the battery do they still have a good charge?

batteries will normally discharge over time even if disconnected. you must periodically charge it or put a battery maintainer on it. All the new batteries in our parts department are stored on a battery maintainer.

I have let my Silverado sit for 2 weeks before and it started right up with no problem.

30 to 60 days is the timeline i'm referring to for a connected battery.
all manufacturers want new, unsold units to be charged every 30 days. if you don't follow the recharge schedule...they won't warranty bad batteries.

they even have a shipping mode to reduce battery draw/
